What video format do vertical clips need?
Short-form platforms take an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio in a 9:16 frame. cutspool exports exactly that, at 1080 x 1920 or 720 x 1280, at 30 FPS or the source rate if that is higher. Captions are burned into the picture when enabled and can be hidden before re-rendering and downloading. There is no separate export step and no other ratio: a finished clip is a downloadable file in the clip list.

How it works
Encode each clip
The cut, the reframe, the captions and the brand overlay are written in one H.264 pass at the output size you picked.
Write the MP4
The file is written with its index at the front, so it starts playing before it has fully downloaded.
Store the file
Each finished clip is uploaded to storage and attached to the job that produced it.
The clip list updates
Clips appear as the job progresses; the job reads DONE once every clip is written.
Download
Take the MP4 from the clip list and post it as it is.
What you control
The output size is picked before the run. Everything else about the file is the same for every clip, so there is no export dialog to fill in.

What it does not do
- One output ratio: 9:16, at 1080 x 1920 or 720 x 1280.
- 1080p is the ceiling. There is no 4K export.
- MP4 only, H.264 video and AAC audio. No other container or codec.
- Captions are burned into the MP4 when enabled, and can be hidden before re-rendering and downloading. A finished clip's corrected transcript can also be downloaded as SRT, VTT or TXT; the full source transcript is not downloadable.
